About Me:

I worked in NHS for over 33 years as a senior consultant, Director of Public Health, Postgraduate Dean in London and KSS. Having retired from NHS in 2007, I was commissioned by the Department of Health,  to Direct and deliver the National Public Health Leadership Training program for the England and Wales, between 2007-2011, which I ran as post graduate dean initially. I did professional coaching for senior consultants in the NHS and continued to be 360 feedback facilitator until 2015. Between 2015 and 2017 have been project Director for the  Odisha Project, to advice and develop Public Health systems and develop Public Health workforce for the State of Odisha and similar work in the State of MP, on behalf of the Faculty of Public Health funded by the Department for International Development (DfID). From 1993-2003, a commissioner/member of the International Medical Commission on Bhopal (IMCB) that studied the long term effects of Carbide disaster amongst the survivors. The report and subsequent WHO policy is the bases for the health provision for the victims of the Bhopal Gas disaster in State of MP. This includes Bhopal Memorial Trust Hospital and 8  peripheral linked community units. These two major pieces of work were worthy to be awarded the Baum Prize, from European Epidemiology group for Bhopal work and Wilfred Harding Prize, from the Faculty of Public Health, for my work in Developing Global Public Health strategy and workforce.
